4:12 - 10/4/26 - 58 degrees. I sit in my old rocker on my small redwood porch, surrounded by a variety of trees, but mostly pine. I am humbled by nature. I thank God for all he has done in my life, including the little things that often go unnoticed. I sip my coffee. The early rain falls gently at my feet as I sit underneath the overhang of my porch. The wind blows softly, and I hear his voice in everything. If you sit quietly and let yourself feel, you will understand. The fir tree in front of me stands tall and spreads her arms wide, but beneath her are only three long stems that hold her up. They don't seem big enough to support such a magnificent tree. Yet they do. There is so much to be learned from nature. The fir tree teaches us that size doesn't matter. Although held up by only three skinny stems. She weathers all storms by just bending with the wind. The storms of life will always come, and no matter where we are in life, we still need to bend with the wind as God holds us up. We need only to ask him to show us the way. If we sit quietly, the answers will come; they may not always be the answers we are looking for, but they will be his answers. Psalm 25: 1-4 expresses this more clearly. 4:34 a.m. train rings through the night with its piercing whistle. I hear some snorting noise, only to find a family of raccoons crossing my path, stopping to have a bite to eat. At 5:23 am, a rooster crows through the dark silence as reliably as my grandfather clock, bringing a nostalgic feeling to the first light of a new day. Until next time with Breakfast with God.

5:23 - 9/26/26 - 60 degrees. I sit in my old rocker under the overhang of my small redwood porch, sheltered from the rain yet still able to be a part of the elements. In the windy darkness, I feel God's love and his power. I say my prayers and talk with God. Somehow, I just like being with him and never having to utter a word. I sit back and listen. I feel his great love for me through the power of the wind and the gentleness of the rain. I sit quietly and let my senses take in the scents created by the rain mixing with fallen leaves. Through all these elements, he speaks to you and to me if you sit quietly and listen. Remember, it is not an audible voice, but thoughts put into your mind and a feeling sent through the elements if you allow yourself to be open to them. The wind roars through the forest, and the trees bow beneath its strength. My mighty fir tree is also humbled as she too bows beneath the power of the wind. Like us, we too bow beneath God's mighty power. He lives in the wind, the trees, and in us. Therefore, he is with us all the time. He walks with us, speaks through us as we go about life unaware of his presence. It is for this reason that one needs to honor and respect ones self as well as others, because God lives there to. All my little friends are a bit timid this morning with the constant groan of the wind. Debree is falling everywhere . I hear branches crack as they hit my roof and my neighbor's car. It is a wonderful thing to be a part of the storm and yet be untouched by it. Until next time with Breakfast with God

9/19/26 - 4:45 - 62 degrees Sitting in my old rocker on my small redwood porch, I am surrounded by an invisible shield. I sit in harmony with nature as I watch the branches of my tall fir tree gently stir with the touch of rain. The darkness begins to lift, and I am reminded of God's miracles. Some say they do not see them anymore. Maybe they are not looking in the right place, or maybe they are just not seeing what is in front of their face. I see them all the time. In the lives of my family and in those around me. These are little miracles, but I have recently had the privilege to witness a big miracle in the life of someone I know personally. Sometimes people have to go through a difficult time in order to see what God is trying to show them. This is when the miracle takes place. One of our oldest hymns describes it: Amazing Grace: "I was blind, but now I see." Well, I just witnessed this miracle take place in the metamorphosis of someone I have known for years. Some prayers are not answered right away, but they are always answered in God's time 5:57 The train awakens the silence of the forest as the morning sky turns a delightful peach, and the sun prepares for her appearance, unveiling tall grey sticks with a soft emerald-green canopy. I say my prayers and thank God for all the wonders I have been privileged to witness. 6:04 I sip my coffee and take notice of the fir tree, which now looms over the deck, Large and majestic, and yet soft and gentle, very much like God. 5:30 - 9/13/26 - 67 degrees. In the darkness of early morning, I sit in my old rocker on my small redwood porch once again. The 5:31 train roars through the forest. Steel meets iron in a clanky noise, yet familiar and comforting. There is a silence in the forest this morning except for the ever-present crickets. The crab apple tree, just to my right, has begun to dropping her fruit to the ground. A telltale sign of the coming autumn. Soon I will collect them and make crab apple jelly. Yes, fall is around the corner, and as we close the door on summer, we open it to brand new scents and colors. 6:05 The darkness is lifting as the sun prepares to make an appearance. I say my prayers and talk with God. This is the time I set aside, whether my day is good or bad, to be with my maker. The Tufted Titmouse is the first to awaken this morning, followed by the Northern Cardinal and Carolina Wren, the usual suspects, although this morning they are joined by the Common Starling. I begin to think about one of my clients who has begun to read the Bible in a year, as I did. It is interesting and exciting to watch the changes in her as she questions what she is reading, for the Bible is no easy read. I don't think it was meant to be. It is in the questioning that leads you closer to God on your own special journey. You knock on the door, and God opens it. Maybe not all the way at first, for there is much to be learned. It is this process that leads you closer and closer to God without you even realizing what is happening. It is in this process that God speaks to you in his small, quiet voice. No, it is not audible. It is within and in all elements of nature. Until next time with Breakfast with God.

4:52 - 9/5/26 -69 degrees and going down. Yes, fall is here rather early, it would seem, but with it comes newness. New colors, new clean, dry air, new activities to bring people closer together. Yes, with each season comes a new chapter. And we get to write our own story. If we follow God's lead, it will be a good story; if we don't, it will be just our story. 5:00, My thoughts go to a client who asked me, why did God let this terrible thing happen to him? I said, because evil rules the world, and because man has free will, evil gets to work through us. Hopefully, for your story, it is where you give the pain to God and walk away free from shame and anger. Free to enter the season of new beginnings. How do I do this, you might ask? Well, that is where faith comes in. If you have allowed God into your heart, then it is fairly easy. If you are not quite there yet, then it takes some more knocking at the door, as I have mentioned in my past blogs, until you are ready. And then continue knocking forever because you never stop growing in faith. 5:25, I can feel the stillness all around me in the quiet of the early morning, and I know God is here with me. Someone asked me, well, how do you know this? What do you feel? I feel God's love because I have knocked at the door enough times to know it. He is in my heart because I want him there. It is not a feeling so much as a knowing. 5:30, I say my prayers and talk with God. I thank him, even through life's difficulties, for the blessings in my life. For the wonderful clients he has sent me and the work he has given me to do. Until next time with Breakfast with God.

5:18am - 8/21/26 - 72 degree as I sit in my old rocker on my small redwood porch deep in the forest the northern Cardinal sings through the darkness. CIRRUS clouds are strewn in a peach array across the early morning sky, with the reflection of the sun that is about to rise. As quietly as, standing in my driveway, is a young buck magnificently showing off his new antlers as he waits for his usual handout. Along with him is Mr. Gray squirrel, who sits up straight with his little arms bent, begging at my feet. I set my coffee and remember the sultry summer days when I would sit quietly on the porch with my mother, during the dog days of August, as she would put it. I treasure those memories.. I say my prayers and thank God for those wonderful memories. I look forward to the day when I will see her again.. I read an excerpt from the Bible and talk with God as I do every day.. I pray for those whom I know are in need. The Carolina Wren has awoken. She is a small little bird with a big voice. The darkness lifts and the new summer day is born.. for many of you. This is not a wonderful thing. many of you are trapped in your own fears or troubles.. This is what I challenge you to do.. when you wake each morning fine one thing one thing that you can be thankful for or look forward to. It does not matter what it is., any small thing anything at all?. the next morning do the same except find two things you are thankful for and look forward to. Each day, increase it by one and you will find your way out of the darkness.. Until next time with breakfast with God

8/14/26 - 7:31 - 71 degrees. It is a delightful morning. I sit here in my rocker on my small redwood porch, surrounded by the forest, watching the Doe eat the seed I carefully laid on the driveway. The chipmunks, squirrels, and bluejays eat at my feet. They are a delight. Friends sent from God. How lucky am I. I am just a simple soul, content to watch the grass grow. Money can not buy this. 7: 45 The welcoming sound of the train whistle flows through the forest. I say my prayers and read a few verses from the Bible. My thoughts drift back to one of my clients who asked me, "How do you find happiness?" He believes it is in doing things, the next vacation or holiday, or material things to own, or more money. He has all these, yet none of them will bring him the peace and joy I feel right now. Happiness is not in material things or vacations, etc. Sure, you may feel happiness at times. But true happiness (contentment) doesn't come and go. It never leaves you, even in your darkest hour. It is buried within your soul. So now my client asks, what does he have to do to achieve this? But it is not in the doing. It is in the quiet moments when you open your heart to God and let him come in. Some say they do this and nothing happens. So then I ask, what do you think is getting in the way? The usual answer comes down to control. It doesn't matter what it is. What matters is that they think they know better than God, so they are not letting go of that aspect of their lives. One must let go so God can come in and do wonderful things in your life. But only if you let him in. Letting go of control does not mean you will never make a decision again. Remember, God gave us free will. It simply means you are aware that God knows best, and that, going forward, your life will be guided by God if you let go and let him in. It is your choice. He is waiting at the door; you just have to open it. If you want peace (happiness), then you must look to God, for he is peace. Proverbs 3:5-6 says: "Trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your path straight." Philippians 4:7: "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." And Matthew 11:-29 is a call to accept his guidance (Yoke) and learn from his gentle nature to find inner peace. Until next time with Breakfast with God.

8/2/26 - 73 degrees - 5:03. I am enveloped in darkness and sarranaded by the hum of crickets. The Northern Cardinal is again the first to cry out in the dark.I wonder who he is calling or if he is just letting the world know he is here. Now the Catbird begins his repertoire of songs. I sip my coffee, and as I sit in my rocker on my small redwood porch, I begin my prayers. Beginning with my gratitude for a God who is with me at all times, my rock and protector. I thank him for the wonders of the day and for all he has blessed me with each day. I talk with him and pray for people I know who are in need. I then read an excerpt from the Bible, hoping to grasp a better understanding. 5:37 - I am often asked by people, how do you find your way to a better relationship with God? They often say they pray but don't feel anything. My answer is this. God is love. He is the peace beyond all understanding. It is a peace you have to allow yourself to feel. That means to stop everything and let him in. To be still and know that he is God. He is the all-powerful creator who created us out of his great love in hopes that we would, in turn, come to love and worship him with the same love. I sip my coffee, and from the corner of my eye, I catch a stoic presence standing still and quiet, patiently waiting for me. The Doe knows that if she waits quietly and trusts, I will feed her, and she is right, I will. It is the same for us. If we wait quietly and trust in God, He will deliver. "Ask, and you shall receive," in God's time, not ours. Until next time with Breakfast With God.

7/24/26 - 5:04 a.m. - 66 degrees. I can hear the thundering of heavy metal resonating through the forest. I sit alone in darkness with God and the soft tropical wind that seems to talk to me. I hear it rustling through the leaves of the tall oak trees. A gust of wind comes, and the tops of the trees sway with its music, but the fir tree in front of me stands quiet and unshaken. Like many of us who stand quiet and still through the raptures of life. It is only because of God's strength that this is possible. 5:15 Sitting in my rocker on my small redwood porch, I begin my conversation with God and include my gratitude for all he has given me and for always being with me. During my prayers, I begin to feel a presence. I look up into the big, soulful eyes of a beautiful doe standing only inches from me, and alongside her were two of her newest babies, spots and all. I guess she thought that if she stared at me long enough, I would feed her, and she was right. Once again, I hear the 5:15 train thundering through the forest. My thoughts go to one of my clients whose gentle drawings of nature and wildlife express the love and tenderness God has for his creatures. The drawing he gave me was that of a wolf lying down with a lamb. This client states he has no real belief in God, yet his drawings say something else. Isaiah 11:6 "The wolf will lie down with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them." This speaks of the second coming of Jesus, when there will be peace on earth and no more sorrow or pain. Until next time with Breakfast with God.

4:48 a.m. - 7/13/26 - 71 degrees. I am once again sitting on my small redwood porch under a small overhang in my old rocking chair. I say my prayers and thank God for all that He has done for me, for the prayers that have been answered, and for the ones He chooses to wait on. I sip my coffee and know that he is all around me. Some of my clients often tell me they do this, but they don't feel anything. Well, the truth is, it is too soon to expect to feel anything. It is all in the journey. Jesus said, "Knock, and the door will be opened." Well, for those of you who don't know what I mean by 'knocking,' it means reading the Bible from beginning to end, such as in a Bible-in-a-year program. It then means reading books by other authors such as D. L. Munny and A.W. Tozer, J.I. Packer, and Charles Spurgeon. This is knocking along with sitting with God at a certain hour every day that is devoted to him. Through this, you will journey closer to God and remember that He is always with you. The chimes sing out through the dense greenery. Other than my chimes, there is complete silence this morning, only a light breeze that gently touches the branches of the fir tree, causing them to sway gently as though she were speaking to me. The 5:03 train calls out through the silence, bringing a sense of calm and stability to the forest. 5:04, The Northern Cardinal is the first to break the silence this morning. It is quiet and still in my little world, but not so much in many others. I hope that those of you who are troubled will reach out to God and receive his peace beyond all understanding (Philippians 4:6-8). Until next time with Breakfast with God.

5:07 - 7/6/26 -69 degrees. The gentle summer rains have just ended, feeding and nurturing all God's creatures. The Northern Cardinal and the white-breasted nuthatch are the first to echo God's music this morning. Now, the Grey Catbird, the song sparrow, and a new one, the European starling, have entered the mix. The sun will rise soon. It is already getting lighter. I know that many of you are walking through darkness right now. But maybe you can step back and listen to God's tender voice for a moment and find a little comfort in it. I know what it is like to walk through darkness, but I also know that God walks with you. I sip my coffee, say my prayers, and thank God for always being with me. I read an excerpt from the Bible, Psalm 99:8-9. It talks about God's great love for us and how he guides us and disciplines us when we go astray. I believe he does this through the consequences of our own behavior. 5;29 I put seed down for all the wildlife, and like magic, they all appear. The male cardinal, with his bright red coat, is first, then the black squirrel with his shiny, wet black coat. It soon becomes a kaleidoscope of sounds and colors. Take a break today and listen to what God has done. Until next time with Breakfast With God

4:31 a.m. - 7/2/26 - 73 degrees and balmy. It is a lovely summer morning as I sit on my small redwood porch in my old rocking chair. The Northern Cardinal is the only one to speak this early in the morning. He sings alone, announcing a new day. Not a leaf on a tree is moving. The Fir tree stands quiet. The stillness can be felt. I say my prayers and know that God is all around me. 4:50 A strong breeze has suddenly broken the stillness. The red-winged blackbird, the Song sparrow, the red-eyed vireo, the titmouse, and the Catbird have all joined in on the music of the forest. What a glorious morning to lay down your burdens and take refuge in the peace that God sends for everyone. Mathew 6;26 states, "Look at the birds of the air, they do not plant or harvest, yet God feeds them, and we are far more valuable than they are." God will show you the way if you ask. "Ask, and you will receive; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you." Luke 11:9 and 10. Well, I have been knocking, and the door has been opening, but there is so much more I want to know and understand. It has been an incredible journey so far. I look forward to the rest of where it will take me. God said, "Come to me with your eyes wide open, listen, and you will find life." Isaiah 55:3. Until next time with Breakfast With God.
