Breakfast With God
10/15/26 - 5:35 - 51 degrees. The wind blows softly as I sit in my old rocker on my small redwood porch and talk to God, who listens to every word. The fir tree sways in the wind; its long arms reach out to me, with lush green draped over its branches. Darkness surrounds me, embracing me. I pray for the people I know are hurting, and I know if it is God's will, he will help them. I look up and notice shadows painted across the night sky, silhouetting the forest's taller trees as they drape over me in a canopy of life. The chimes ring out ever so lightly through the shadows and darkness.
6:00 am train sounds its way through the pines and darkness. My mind turns to a birthday party I recently had the privilege of attending, where two people were inducted into the 80s club. The eighties club is a wonderful thing. It is the beginning of the last chapter in life. So the opportunity is great. This is a chance to accomplish what you have always wanted and make a difference in the lives of others. One has a decision at this point. You can either join the eighties club or descend into a life of despair and fear. When evil walks the earth, he does so disguised in fear. It is humanity's most destructive emotion. This is a new opportunity, a chance to get it right. God never meant for us to live in fear.
Isaiah 41:10 states, Fear thou not; for I am with thee; be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
6:52 The Carolina Wren sounds off, trumpeting the beginning of a new day. A day to start fresh, to put aside one's fears, anger, and resentments. To free oneself to start fresh.
Until next time with Breakfast with God.
