4:57 -13 degrees - 1/29/26 I am sitting in my famous rocker under the overhang on my small redwood porch, with a heater under my chair and a blanket over my lap. I am out here in the frozen tundra, clothed in darkness, wrapped in God's love.
Peace, such a small word, yet probably the most elusive and most powerful in our English vocabulary. Almost all my clients, when asked what their goal in therapy is, will reply, "to find peace." The peace they seek can be found only within them, for that is where God resides. As to what floor he is on within you, that's a different question. Maybe he is still in the basement. Not until you allow him to the main floor will you find peace. How do you do this? By having coffee with him every morning. Talking to him. Getting to know him and inviting him in, then peace will enter your heart, no matter what life brings you. It is a journey, and it is in the journey that you find peace. Your soul is the temple where God comes to live. Value it, take care of it, respect it. Remember he is the God of all people. He values you no matter how little you may think of yourself. So let him out of the basement.
6:20: The train roars through the stillness of the early morning, carrying its passengers to work. The darkness is beginning to lift. I read the next chapter of the Bible after talking with God and giving thanks. Only eight more chapters to go. It has been a wonderful journey, and I can't wait to start it again. Today in the Bible, Paul reminded us that God said, "I will never fail you. I will never abandon you." Paul said, "The lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?" So let him in, so you may have this strength and peace as well
Until next time with Breakfast with God.
