4:48 a.m. - 7/13/26 - 71 degrees. I am once again sitting on my small redwood porch under a small overhang in my old rocking chair. I say my prayers and thank God for all that He has done for me, for the prayers that have been answered, and for the ones He chooses to wait on. I sip my coffee and know that he is all around me. Some of my clients often tell me they do this, but they don't feel anything.

Well, the truth is, it is too soon to expect to feel anything. It is all in the journey. Jesus said, "Knock, and the door will be opened." Well, for those of you who don't know what I mean by 'knocking,' it means reading the Bible from beginning to end, such as in a Bible-in-a-year program. It then means reading books by other authors such as D. L. Munny and A.W. Tozer, J.I. Packer, and Charles Spurgeon. This is knocking along with sitting with God at a certain hour every day that is devoted to him. Through this, you will journey closer to God and remember that He is always with you.

The chimes sing out through the dense greenery. Other than my chimes, there is complete silence this morning, only a light breeze that gently touches the branches of the fir tree, causing them to sway gently as though she were speaking to me. The 5:03 train calls out through the silence, bringing a sense of calm and stability to the forest. 5:04, The Northern Cardinal is the first to break the silence this morning. It is quiet and still in my little world, but not so much in many others. I hope that those of you who are troubled will reach out to God and receive his peace beyond all understanding (Philippians 4:6-8).

Until next time with Breakfast with God.
