5:15- 15 degrees-2/1/26 I sit on my redwood porch under the overhang, with a heater beneath my rocking chair and a blanket over my lap. I am content and warm. However, this is the first time I've actually been cold out here, especially when the wind blows strong through the pines, and my chimes start to rebel. Although I cannot see the snow moon through the clouds, it is still very bright. I can see all the tall skinny shadows of the forest just beyond my faithful Fir tree, which stands firmly in front of me. She sways with the wind but never falters, very much like many of us. Life throws a curve, and we bend, but then we get back up, and life goes on.
I thank God with all my heart for the life he has given me with all its ups and downs. I am like the wind blowing wherever God wants me. This brings me great joy.
I say my prayers and read the next chapter of the Bible. One of my clients said to me she is afraid to ask God for help for herself because she believes she is not important enough.
I'm sure most of you remember the story of Jesus talking to the people who had gathered, explaining to them that if God takes care of the tiniest sparrow, what then will he do for you, whom he loves. All God wants from you is to love him back; that's it. It doesn't matter where you come from or what you have done. It is all forgotten the moment you turn to him. All he wants is your love.
5"31 It is quiet this morning. No trains, no wildlife, just me, the wind, and the chimes crying out their hearts.
Until next time with Breakfast with God.
