6:20 - 2/25/26 - 36degrees the 6:20 train roars by, its sound vibrating through the forest. Due to the weather, I sit in my kitchen. Instead of looking at my beautiful fir tree, I am privileged to look out over a snow-covered lake with the forest rising up around it, and deer walking across it.
The birds have begun their chorus. I say my prayers and thank God for all my blessings. I tell him how much I love him and thank him for always being there for me in both good times and bad.
I look at the frozen crystals hanging from my bay window, reflecting the morning light and the frozen tundra beyond, and I am awed by the magnificence of the beauty and power behind them. A black-capped chickadee has come to say hello, sitting alone on a snow-covered bush outside my window. I can almost touch him.
Since I have completed the Bible, I now read excerpts from it to see what I have missed or what God wants me to hear. I drink my coffee and know that he is with me. He is in my heart, my soul, and all around me. Not just in all the books I read or the church I go to, or even the bible. He is in my heart because I let him in. So maybe that's the takeaway. Let him out of the basement and into your heart. But keep searching. The more you search for him, the closer you get to him.
Until next time with Breakfast with God.
