5:43 a.m. - 21 degrees - 3/3/26 Again, I find myself inside. I think I shall remain here until the snow lifts. As much as I long to be outside, it is not necessary because God is with me no matter where I am, as he is for all of you. I say my prayers and talk with God. Someone told me that our hearts are evil. My heart is not evil. It is the home in which God dwells. How can it be evil? I try to make it as clean and pure as possible. I am a humble servant. I cannot be evil. I sin, yes, but I do the best I can to keep his house pure. I tell him how much I love him and will always do my best to keep his house clean. Will I fail at times? Yes, but that does not make my heart evil.
5:50 a.m. I sip my coffee. A client calls me and tells me he is now going in for surgery. I pray for him, knowing how scared he must be.
6:12 a.m. The darkness begins to lift, revealing cold, stiff shadows of the forest along with two deer sleeping quietly on a patch of snow by the lake, near the Adirondack chairs. The mighty Blue Heron just flew in, landing on a small peninsula jutting into the lake. He is a magnificent sight, standing 4.6 feet tall with a 6-foot wingspan. He stands still like a statue waiting for his prey. He is a majestic and welcome member of the forest.
I read an excerpt from the Bible. It is a psalm by David 25:4-5, who says, "Show me the right path, Lord, lead me in your truth and teach me." Didn't Jesus say over and over, "I am the truth and the way." This is the journey we take when we read the Bible. You begin to search for God everywhere, and he is everywhere. It is this journey that begins to change you in a good way.
Now, as the snow lifts, tiny crocuses can be seen peeking through the waiting earth. How strong and mighty those little guys must be. We are like the crocuses, and God is our strength.
Until next time with Breakfast with God.
