5:00 am, 29 degrees. I sit in my usual rocking chair, wrapped in a warm blanket with a heater underneath me, and I am very comfortable out in the elements. There is what they call a Beaver moon this morning, and I can see it shining brightly through a hollow space in the branches of the pine trees. How lucky am I to see God's majesty in all his glory? I sit in awe, taking it all in. The moon is a giant, orangy-white orb with a slight haze over it. It is midnight black all around me, and I am surrounded by his love. How do I know that some would ask? I can only answer, I feel it in my heart and soul. It doesn't happen immediately, as you begin your journey. It is a process, a work in progress, as they say. Jesus said, Knock and the door will be opened. That is what we do every morning as we have breakfast with God. We are knocking, and each morning we get a little bit closer as the door begins to open and we begin to understand what it means to stand at the door and knock.

One of my clients told me that she sits every morning in darkness, and nothing is happening. Well, that is all wrong for we sit there to give praise and honor to the one who created us, and as we do, we begin to know him as he reveals himself to us ever so slowly. Why slowly? Because it is a lot to take in. As I read a chapter of the Bible each morning along with my little prayer book and anything else I can get a hold of, I begin to know him in a whole different way. When writings contradict each other, I ask God to help me discern as to what is correct, for the answer is within you; you have only to listen to your heart.

In other words, do not sit there waiting for something to happen. It is in the journey. You must wait, listen, and keep a watchful eye. The answers are all around you. Remember God lives within you. So after you have prayed and communed with God, sit quietly and know that he is God. Then go about your day knowing that he lives within you. Remember God is love. So let's go about our day, giving that love to everyone we see.

I hope you enjoyed your morning Breakfast with God.
