I sit on my rocker on my small redwood porch, enjoying the quiet stillness after a storm and the fresh scent that goes with it. The squirrels and chipmunks are running all around my feet in the peaceful quiet of the early morning. The Doe lies peacefully in the grass just beyond. It is so nice to see all the animals so comfortable with each other, no matter their differences. Wouldn't it be nice if all of us could take a lesson from them?

6:00 am I say my prayers and talk with God, thanking him for always being there for me. I read a verse from the Bible and meditate on it as I try to apply it to my life.

It has been said that God no longer speaks to his people or performs miracles. But if we just look into our own lives and the people around us with our eyes open, we will see that God does speak to us all the time in many different ways, whether it is an answer to a prayer, a needed word spoken from the mouth of a stranger, or an action that took place. I can tell you that in my own life, I see God work and hear his voice. Sometimes, in a warning not to do what I was intending, or in an act of help when I really needed it. Just the other day, I was on my way home in the fast lane, going 70, when I suddenly had a blowout that sent my car out of control. The car wanted to flip. I could feel it, so I prayed desperately to God for help to control it , and he did. I was able to hold onto the steering wheel and keep the car straight. I ended up on the other side of the highway on the grass. It was not me that did that. It was God who saved me once again, as He has many times in my life, and I'm sure if you look into yours, you will see the same.

So open your eyes, listen, and look. Miracles do happen every day. He is all around you, speaking to you and working in your life also.

Until next time with Breakfast with God.
