Breakfast With God

5:36 a.m. - 6/16/26 - 66 degrees. As I sit in my old rocker on my small redwood porch, the air feels heavy with moisture. I read a verse from the Bible. There is still much I do not understand.

5:54 train roars through the forest with its usual welcoming bellow. I talk with God and feel his glory all around me. I thank him for always being there for me and for sending his son to die for me so that one day I may be with him.

6:16 I put seed down in my driveway, and suddenly the Deer are there, as if they had been watching me all along. The squirrels and chipmunks run across my feet for their daily dose of peanuts.

6:27 A breeze laden with moisture blows through the forest, leaving behind a fresh pine scent. I am reminded of a client who recently had the courage to face his fears through the work of EMDR and come out on the other side with the recurrent nightmares gone and is able to face his abuser without his stomach sinking. He is free to live his life, as are many others like him. Fears that were destroying his life, leaving him with depression. Now, is that not a miracle? Do you not think that God was at work through all this? Well, he was. In only ten sessions, he is now free to live his life along with many others like him. They are free thanks to God and his works.

For those who are struggling in life with fear holding them back, remember Romans 8:31 says, "If God is for us, who can be against us?" Walk forward through your fears and take God with you, for on the other side of fear is life.

Until next time with Breakfast with God.
