5:04 - 5/15/26 - 53 degrees. I sit in my rocker on my small redwood porch. The first light of day filters through gray, billowing clouds in a soft spray of orange. A bluejay flies in announcing the first call to breakfast. He is followed by a wood duck couple flying out of the tree, taking their chances. The male is a handsome fellow, proudly flaunting his emerald-green helmet, delicately outlined in white. A chipmunk runs across my feet on his way to steal a peanut as the black and gray squirrels settle in with a young doe eating from the other pile of birdseed.

I thank God for all his blessings, for all the souls he sends to me, and for my ability to do his work. I only pray that I serve him well. We all have gifts to use to better someone else's life. This is what brings peace and harmony to both the giver and receiver. In the end, binding all God's people together with one simple word, love.

I watch the wildlife all eat together with one common denominator: food. We, as God's superior creatures, are the same with one common denominator, love. Does it really matter what our personal views are? Should we not take a lesson from our lesser creatures? How easy it is for the evil of this world to come in and wreak havoc among us instead of God's people standing together in love and unity. Mark 3:25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand.

5:18 sunrise now unveiling patches of blue between the gray, billowy clouds. And a new day is born.

Until next time with Breakfast with God.
