Using Daily Reflections for Personal Growth: Reflective Journaling Techniques
Each day offers a quiet invitation to pause, breathe, and look inward. I have found that using daily reflections as a gentle practice can open doors to deeper understanding and personal growth. It is like tending a small garden within my soul, where each thought and feeling is a seed waiting to bloom. Reflective journaling techniques have become my trusted companions on this journey, helping me nurture a more peaceful and spiritually connected life. Embracing Reflective Journ

Breakfast with God
5:59 a.m. - 12/27/25 - 30 degrees. I sit on my rocker under the overhang on my front porch with the heater under my chair. Once again, I am privileged to sit out in God's majesty and enjoy the wonder of it all. I gaze out upon carpets of white and trees encased in the sweet sugar of nature. My fir tree sits a few feet away from me, its branches weighed down by puffs of cotton. I watch as she sways softly in the breeze, showing off her jewels. 6:14 a.m. train roars out in the

Breakfast with God
5::15 a.m. 12/26/25 21 degrees. Christmas is over, but the spirit lives on. I am surrounded by darkness. However, I am still warm sitting on my rocker underneath the overhang on my small front porch. The wind blows hard and knocks at my frame, an eerie feeling, but welcome still. Death is on my mind this morning. I wrestle with wanting to be with my Father ( God) and the fear of the unknown. I know that as long as I continue this journey, one day the fear will be gone. 5

Breakfast with God
5:00 a.m. 12/24/25 38 degrees. Sitting in my rocker under the overhang, warm and cozy in my little corner of the porch. Today is the Eve of Jesus' birth, so I begin with thanks for God coming to earth in the form of Jesus to show us how to live, to treat each other, and most of all to carry our sins to the cross so we could have a stairway to Heaven. So today I celebrate Jesus's birth. I know the greatest gift I can give him is to love my neighbor as he has loved me. So, I

Embracing God's Presence: A Morning Reflection
A Winter's Blessing 5:04 a.m. 12/14/25 This morning, I am blessed with a blanket of white as I sit in my rocker underneath the overhang of my snow-covered porch. I feel warm from the heater under my chair. What a blessing it is to experience God's majesty in the deafening silence of the snow. I say my prayers and thank God for His ever-presence. The Cedar Fir stands tall in front of me, dressed in God's glory. Her branches gently sway low underneath their heaviness. She sends

Breakfast With God
12/7/25 6:09 a.m., 28 degrees, I am again out on my rocker, covered up and warm. The full moon shines through a grey/blue sky, revealing itself through the branches of the Cedar Fir. It reminds me of how big God really is. He is like the sun, Larger than all things, whether they be of earth or the universe. He shines his healing warmth down on every living thing throughout the world, whether they deserve it or not. Some are thankful for the warmth, energy, and light, while

Breakfast With God
11/29/25. 4:52 a.m. 36 degrees. I sit in my famous rocker, under the overhang on my small redwood porch, wrapped in my blanket with a small heater under my chair. It is amazing how warm I feel. I am surrounded by darkness. I hear the pitter-patter of little feet in the bushes just beyond the great fir tree, just a few feet away. My curiosity is piqued as to what might show up. I thank God for answering my prayers once again. He is always there. All you have to do is ask and b

Breakfast With God
11/16/2025; 5:00 a.m. and 53 degrees. I sit in my familiar rocking chair, under the overhang on my redwood porch. It rained last night. The air smells of moist, fresh earth. The Cedar Fir across from me moves ever so gently in the soft breeze. It is a lot warmer this morning, reminiscent of spring. I say my prayers and thank God for all his blessings. Then I let him know my troubles and needs. The Cedar Fir moves delicately as if it were talking to me. 6:01 The darkness is li

BREAKFAST WITH GOD
5:00 am, 29 degrees. I sit in my usual rocking chair, wrapped in a warm blanket with a heater underneath me, and I am very comfortable out in the elements. There is what they call a Beaver moon this morning, and I can see it shining brightly through a hollow space in the branches of the pine trees. How lucky am I to see God's majesty in all his glory? I sit in awe, taking it all in. The moon is a giant, orangy-white orb with a slight haze over it. It is midnight black all aro

BREAKFAST WITH GOD
At 5:00 am, I once again sit in my old rocking chair under the overhang of my small front porch. It is raining this morning, but I am warm and comforted by my blanket and protected from the elements. It is 38 degrees, yet I am safe and warm. I have my coffee, but I'm not sure if God even likes coffee. However, I am having it with him anyway. I start by thanking God for all he has blessed me with and for the prayers he has once again answered in my life. I still am in awe of t

Breakfast With God
5:00 am, September 26, 2025. It is a balmy spring-like morning as I sit on my burgundy-stained porch, which consists of an old wooden rocking chair in which I sit, and to my right is the front door, then an old Adirondack chair that has definitely seen better days. Diagonally, there is another chair resembling a chaise lounge, and in front of me stands another of the same. I sit underneath an overhang that protects me from the rain and snow. For you to see, I sit out here
